INTRODUCTION
Sotele Secondary (S. 701) is an ordinary level co-education boarding Scholl situated at Sotele Village, in Mkuranga district 72 Km from Dar es Salaam. 
FACILITIES
Sotele has a number of good facilities, which have led to its reputation among them include:-
Classrooms
The classrooms are spacious and offer flexibility and comfort. The number of students per class ranges from 35 to 40.
Laboratories
The laboratories are well equipped with apparatus and reagents to enable students to conduct practical for science subjects and enhance their understandings. The school has Physics, Biology and Chemistry Laboratories, which are well equipped to enable easy learning
Library

Is well stocked with comprehensive range of textbooks, journals and educational reports. Opening hours are flexible with Saturday and Sunday opening hours during the term.
Computer laboratory
The school has a well-equipped computer laboratory whereby tutorials are given free of charge to equip students to cope with the changing world of science and technology.
Dormitories
The school has dormitories, which has the capacity to accommodate 320 students, form I to form IV).
Other facilities include: Dispensary, water bore hole and reservoir etc

  
  


LOCATION
Sotele secondary is situated at Sotele Village, Kisiju Division, and Mkuranga District in Coast Region (about 24 Km from Mkuranga town centre) south - East of Dar es Salaam. Sotele is one of the most popular places in Mkuranga for its conducive environment, good weather and pollution free zone offers good environment for learning. The school places great emphasis on student’s success by offering higher-class contact hours than other schools, structured revision and remedial session, effective academic counseling and tutorials and classes for examination techniques. 
 

STUDENTS ADMISSION CRITERIA
The school Board selects students joining form I at Sotele Secondary school after undergoing two interviews that is oral and written. The Board selects the students according to their pass mark.
Most of the day students come from Sotele village and other neighboring villages, while boarding students come from other parts of the country
 

QUALITY TEACHING AND LEARNING
At Sotele consistent academic and discipline contacts with students has led to high pass rates. The quality of our teaching staff is among the factors attributed to students’ academic performance. Our academic staffs have professional experience s ranging from 20 years to 5.Our teaching effects both their practical and academic experience.
 

FEES
Our fees are relatively lower compared with other Boarding schools in Tanzania. This is because we are independent school and we set our own rates. Though our fees are relatively lower the quality of education and academic performance is higher. Our aim is to educate every child at an affordable rate.

FUTURE PROGRAMMS
To expand enrollment for Ordinary Level students from the current 320 students to 400, effective from year 2006. Sotele is also on process to start 4 streams for Ordinary level and Advanced Level students. The school has developed a ten years Master plan starting from year 2005 to 2014 it expected that the number students will increase from the current 320 students to 1020 by the year 2014.
